To be
eligible to join the club you must be a resident of Ixworth or live in a village
within a radius of approximately 6 miles from Ixworth.

Membership fees for 2017/2018 season are £15 for adults, £10 for juniors
and senior citizens.
To join us you must apply in person, and bring along a valid
Environmental Agency Rod Licence where required. You will not be allowed
to join unless a valid rod licence is shown.
Please note that the Environment Agency have changed the rules regarding
licences for Juniors. For those between 12 and 16 years you still have to
obtain a rod licence but there is no charge anymore. In addition you will
be able to buy a licence that allows you to fish with up to 3 rods.
Upon joining the club members are given detailed
instructions as to the locations of each stretch of river they may fish.
Members with cars will be given a Car Authorisation Card which must be
left out clearly visible within the windscreen area.
Members may fish three different stretches of the river Blackbourn with
depths varying from 3 feet up to 8 feet deep. It is also planned this
season to hold some matches along what is called the match stretch of the
river and at some still waters. Please see the match sheet that will be
provided when you join or rejoin the club. The new season for river
fishing starts on the 16th June..
All members are also given a copy of the Club Rules and a Club Match
Schedule for the season.
(Please note that the Committee
reserves the right to decline any application to join, and that we do not
normally accept applications to join from persons living in Bury St
Edmunds)
